Sun Koshi River is Nepal’s longest rafting trip. The run of 235 km requires 7-9 days to be completed at Chatara. It is must enjoyable river in the world; it is just 2 hrs drive out of Kathmandu, barely 60 km from the Tibetan border and ends the trip looking down the hot, dusty gun barrel of the north India. The river starts off fairly relaxed with only class 2 small class 3 rapids to warm up on during the first couple of days, while the lower section of large volume rivers are usually flat, the rapids become more powerful and frequent, everyday five hours paddling on the river except first & last day rapid countered class 4 to 5 according to class 1-5++. And those on high water trips finds themselves astonished at just how big wave in a river can get.
