Nepal Sales mission to Australia

Nepal Sales mission to Australia

Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) organized Nepal Sales Mission to Australian cities of Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney from June 30 to July 4.

NTB promoted culture, history, wildlife and golfing in Australia. Apart from Mt. Everest and Himalayas, NTB also promoted Nepal as the birth place of Lord Buddha and home to legendary Gorkha soldiers.

\'Australian travellers are seeking new experiences and new destinations when they travel One of their key requirements is that the destination is real and the travel experience authentic. The main segments of outbound travellers from Australia are Backpacker/Youth and “Baby Boomers. Travel and enjoyment of life is a key motivation for this sector. To attract these segments the sales mission was an endeavour to explain the Australian agents just what Nepal has to offer their clients,\' reads a press statement issued by NTB.

The sales mission attracted more than 250 tour operators and media representatives in the three cities. NTB also awarded 8-day Nepal trip to winners of lucky draw that it conducted on each of the three cities.

NTB has identified Australia as a country having potential of market expansion. Around 10,000 Australian visitors visit Nepal every year. The number of Australian visitors to Nepal increased by 42% in 2007.-TAAN
